Description
The PrepSEQ™ Rapid Spin Sample Prep Kit - Extra Clean & Bead Beating was developed for the AFNOR-approved MicroSEQ™ Listeria species and Listeria monocytogenes Real-Time PCR detection workflows. A spin, transfer, and bead beating protocol efficiently lyses Listeria from a 750μL aliquot of more challenging enriched food samples (e.g., samples containing high fat or otherwise prone to PCR inhibition). The PrepSEQ™ Rapid Spin Sample Prep Kit - Extra Clean & Bead Beating meets the needs of lower throughput food laboratories.NOTE: Standard samples that do not contain high fat or demonstrate PCR inhibition should be processed using the PrepSEQ™ Rapid Spin Sample Prep Kit - Bead Beating.
Optimized for PCR-based Food Safety and Environmental Monitoring
For laboratories involved in food safety and environmental monitoring, PCR-based methods are rapidly becoming the standard for accurate, sensitive bacterial detection. Use this sample preparation method for fast, cost-effective extraction of high-quality DNA from the most challenging sample types.
Designed for Laboratories that Prepare up to 100 Samples a Day
A spin column-based preparation enables small batch sizes to be managed while requiring only simple benchtop devices to process, thereby limiting the capital expenditure associated with much higher throughput automation devices.
Removes PCR Inhibitors and Produces High Quality DNA
The PrepSEQ™ Rapid Spin Sample Prep Kit - Extra Clean & Bead Beating offers a simple, cost-effective way to prepare Listeria DNA from more difficult starting matrices such as cheese, milk, and high fat meats. During the extraction process, the media inside the spin column removes PCR inhibitors from the sample, allowing the bacteria to pass through into the sample collection tube. The pellet is resuspended, then transferred (to avoid carryover, which inhibits PCR) to a new tube containing zirconium beads for mechanical lysis.
